Carsomyr Baldur's Gate 2
Carsomyr is a BG2 best weapon in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. Carsomyr is a two-handed Holy Avenger sword exclusive to Paladin or Rogue Use Any Item BG2.
Carsomyr features encounter-impacting on-hit Dispel and massive magic resistance BG2 as well as THAC0 and damage stats that go beyond most other king-tier wields. The only problem is that Carsomyr is being held by the Red Dragon, Firkraag BG2.
In SCS BG2, Carsomyr's on-hit Dispel can be set to allow a saving throw.

The stats for Carsomyr +5 are THAC0 +5, 1d12 +5 slashing (+10 vs. Chaotic Evil), Speed Factor: 4, on-hit Dispel (15th caster level), Dispel Magic level 15 3/day, +50% MR), Paladin or Rogue/Bard UAI only.
The stats for Carsomyr +6 are THAC0 +6, 1d12 +6 slashing (+12 vs. Chaotic Evil), Speed Factor: 4, on-hit Dispel (15th caster level), Dispel Magic level 15 3/day, +50% MR), Paladin or Rogue/Bard UAI only.

Carsomyr Lore
Carsomyr is a weapon of legend, perhaps one of the most powerful blades ever forged on Faerun, though its origin and history is thought purposefully forgotten, such that the sword itself never overshadow the importance of the struggles that must be fought today. It is infused with the very essence of virtue, and requires as much from any paladin that would hope to wield it. The evils of the Realms must truly stand aside when this weapon is brought to bear, their magic dispelled with a word, steadfastly resisted with ease. Carsomyr also harbors a special distaste for the forces of evil and chaos, and such creatures must fear additional damage from its touch in battle.
Carsomyr Enchantment
Carsomyr has +5 to +6 enchantment. This enchantment allows the wielder to bypass Absolute Immunity. The only other melee weapons that can do this are Ixil's Spike BG2, Ravager BG2 and Staff of the Ram BG2.
Carsomyr Dispel Magic
Carsomyr has on-hit Dispel Magic BG2. Unlike uncapped Staff of the Magi BG2, the on-hit DM of Carsomyr is capped at caster 15th level but even if it only took down Stoneskin and Iron Skins (which it does, among other protections), that alone would be enough.
Staff of the Magi's on-hit DM is caster level uncapped; thus, superior for dispelling purposes. For example, SotM can dispel the buffs of Abazigal BG2 whereas Carsomyr cannot.
Carsomyr Magic Resistance
Carsomyr magic resistance BG2 is stackable magic resistance. It does NOT set magic resistance.
Who can use Carsomyr
Carsomyr can be wielded by PC Paladin BG2, Keldorn BG2, PC Thieves / Bards with Use Any Item BG2 or Thief / Bard companions with UAI (such as Haer'Dalis BG2).
Carsomyr Location
Carsomyr +5 can be found early in Chapter Two on the corpse of Firkraag (a red dragon) in Windspear Hills. We must talk to "Lord Jierdan" in the Copper Coronet in order to have WH marked on our worldmap. The quest to slay Firkraag is also part of the Paladin class-specific questline.
Eye of Tyr Item Code
The item code for the Eye of Tier is COMPON02.
A gift from the God of Justice, this pommel gem gleams with a holy fire. If the burning stone were to be set into the hilt of a weapon of virtue the result would be a blade capable of carving a righteous swath through all the evils that plague the Realms.
Even a Holy Relic as powerful as Carsomyr is made greater when combined with the Eye of Tyr.
Eye of Tyr Location
The Eye of Tyr is found on the corpse of Odamaron the lich in Sendai's Lair of Throne of Bhaal. It can be set into Carsomyr's hilt by Cespenar in the Pocket Plane.
