Keldorn Firecam, Baldur's Gate 2 BG2 Companion

Keldorn BG2

Keldorn Location

Keldorn Firecam is a Baldur's Gate companion in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. Keldorn is found in the sewers beneath the Temple District at the start of Chapter 2, providing the temple quest Investigate and Destroy the Cult of the Eyeless is active.

To make the quest active, we must listen in on Gaal outside the Temple of Lathander and then speak to one of the head clerics, such as High Watcher Oisig in the Temple of Helm. It depends on alignment.

The entrance to the sewers is found between the Temple of Talos and the High Hall of the Radiant Heart. Once in the sewers, Keldorn can be found in the northwest, at the entrance to the Old Tunnels. At that point, he can be recruited and we can go and take out the Beholder cult (though we don't need Keldorn in that quest).

Keldorn's Stats

Keldorn is an Inquisitor BG2. Since that is a Paladin kit, Keldorn usually wields Carsomyr BG2. The only problem with Keldorn is his low Dexterity score. However, that can be addressed by giving him the Gauntlets of Dexterity.

Keldorn's Biography

When asked about his past, KELDORN sighs and is forced to think for a moment before counting the number of years he has been a paladin of Torm in the service of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart. He has battled to protect the defenseless and punish the evil on more occasions than he can recall. A seasoned veteran with the scars to prove it, Keldorn speaks wistfully of retirement in the future and the opportunity to spend more time with his family. Upon their mention, however, Keldorn's attention wanders and grows grim. Duty is more important than personal considerations, he whispers harshly, so long as the Order has need of him.

Keldorn's Quest

Keldorn wishes to visit his wife and family

If we enter the Government district with Keldorn in the party, Keldorn tells us he wants to see his family.

Go to the Firecam estate which is clearly marked on the map. It doesn't matter how we resolve this: Keldorn stays with his wife or agrees to adventure with us until we save Imoen (15,500 XP).

Keldorn comes equipped with his own weapon and armor.

Hallowed Redeemer

Keldorn distinguished himself early in his career as a paladin, and received this blade as a boon from Torm.  It is exceptionally accurate, but also protects him in battle with a special Fireshield, and any that strike him while he wields it suffer Torm's wrath in the form of magical damage. None but Keldorn may use this sword.

  • 5 points of magic damage to any who deal out any damage to the wielder (Retribution).
  • THAC0:  +2 bonus
  • Damage: 1D10 + 2
  • Damage type:  slashing
  • Weight: 8
  • Speed Factor: 8
  • Proficiency Type: Two Handed Sword
  • Type: 2-handed
  • Usable By: Keldorn (and thieves with UAI)

Firecam Full Plate Armor

This armor increases the wearer's armor class by one above that of normal Full-Plate. While equipped the suit provides the wearer with a +1 bonus to all saving throws and grants the wearer with free action (able to pass through webs and other effects). This suit was designed for Keldorn and few other than he can wear it.

  • Armor Class: 0
  • Weight: 70
  • Requires: Only wearable by Keldorn (and thieves with UAI)

However, Keldorn usually wields Celestial Fury or Carsomyr, and the best armor for Keldorn is Drow Full Plate or Full Plate Mail.

Keldorn Proficiencies

Bastard Sword, Longsword, Two-Handed Sword, Crossbow (all **).
