Celestial Fury Baldur's Gate 2
Celestial Fury is a BG2 best weapon in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. Only topped by Flail of Ages BG2, Celestial Fury is notable for its on-hit MR-bypassing Stun effect and damaging backstabs.

Celestial Fury Best Features
- +3 enchantment. We need to switch to weapons of greater enchantment when going up against the likes of demi-liches, Demogorgon, The Ravager BG2 and the Ust Natha Demon Lord, but in the main +3 is enough.
- 1d10 +3 slashing. Slashing is inferior to crushing, but note that 1d10 weapon damage range. Now think "Kensai Kai or Kensai Thief kai-charged backstabs". Celestial Fury is the best backstabbing weapon in SoA and its usefulness isn't lost until we acquire the Staff of the Ram BG2 and Black Blade of Disaster in ToB.
- Speed Factor = 1. A low speed factor facilitates spellcaster disruption.
- On-hit MR-bypassing save vs. spells Stun. The +3 enchantment and 1d10 weapon damage roll constitute a sales pitch on their own, but it's really the on-hit Stun that sets Celestial Fury apart and seals the deal. Because it bypasses magic resistance BG2, we can stun Adamantite Golems that fail their save. We can stun spellcasters through their stoneskins and mirror images, too. Godly.

Celestial Fury Location
An early acquisition for veterans at the start of Chapter 2, Celestial Fury is found on the second floor of the Guarded Compound in the Temple District of Athkatla. On the other hand, newbies will most likely be killed by Koshi, who wields Celestial Fury.
Celestial Fury Upgrade
There is no upgrade for Celestial Fury.
Who can use Celestial Fury
Backstabbers and King-tier warriors with ApR should dual-wield Celestial Fury on-hand and Belm BG2 off-hand.
Companion-wise, Celestial Fury also won't go to waste if wielded by Korgan, Keldorn or Minsc. Also, Valygar and Yoshimo can backstab with Celestial Fury.
Celestial Fury can be wielded off-hand in conjunction with Melf's Minute Meteors in order to inflict ranged Stun, which is the most powerful negative status effect on the Infinity Engine.
Oddly, BioWare only gave Celestial Fury a generic katana description instead of a proper Realmslore one.
