Full Plate Mail Armor
Full Plate Mail Amor is a Baldur's Gate Item in BioWare's cRPG of 1998, Baldur's Gate 1. Due to its solid raw Armor Class BG1 and ability to be worn with protection items such as Ring of Protection +2, Full Plate Mail is the best armor in Baldur's Gate for Fighter BG1. Some magical armors have +1 AC, but they can't be worn with +2 AC items. Thus, FPM is the better choice by 1 point of AC.
Nothing beats Full Plate Mail when it comes to supertanking. FPM is itemized early in both BG1 and BG2. There are two sets itemized in BG1 and several sets itemized in BG2. This grants a two-point AC bonus over stock Plate Mail Armor. FPM beats all but the most epic magical armors in that a Ring of Protection or Cloak of Protection may be worn in addition. RoP and CoP scale from +1 to +3 AC bonus, meaning even Drow Full Plate BG2 (AC -4) - the "best" armor in the Bhaalspawn Saga - only beats this setup by two points of AC. Pathetic.

Full Plate Mail Description
Full plate armor is the best armor a warrior can buy, both in appearance and protection. The perfectly fitted interlocking plates are specially angled to deflect arrows and blows, and the entire suit is carefully adorned with rich engraving and embossed detail.
