Mazzy Location

Mazzy is a Baldur's Gate companion in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. Mazzy is found locked in a cell located in the Temple Ruins, which is accessed via Umar Hills in Chapter 2. 

The Temple ruins is unlocked on the world map by retrieving "A note from Mazzy Fentan" from the floor of the Ranger Cabin (Merella's cabin) in the west of Umar Hills. Once in the temple dungeon (AR 1401), the Shadow Jailor holds the key to Mazzy's cell. Once found and freed, Mazzy can join the party.

Mazzy Stats

As Fighter BG2, Mazzy can be tailored to melee or ranged combat. If tailoring her to melee, her Strength score needs to be fixed by Strength girdles or Crom Faeyr BG2.

 

Mazzy Biography

When asked about her past, MAZZY proudly states that she has spent numerous years adventuring around Amn with her other halfling comrades, basing out of her home town of Trademeet.  The thought of Patrick and her other companions and their fates brings a shadow across her face, however.  Mazzy is a dedicated servant of Arvoreen, the halfling goddess of war, and she resents the common perception by the bigger races that the stout folk cannot defend themselves or act with valor.  If she could, Mazzy would be a paladin and battle against evil in Faerun with the full power of her goddess to aid her.

Mazzy's Quest

Save Mazzy's sister, Pala

• After the quest Investisgate the deaths in Umar Hills has been completed, Danno Fairfoot tracks down Mazzy. It seems Pala has been poisoned.
• Go to the Fentan home in Tradmeet, which is clearly marked on the map. Mazzy's mother, Vara Fentan, refers us to Wallace in the Tradmeet market square.
• Then, Wallace the peddler refers us to the Temple of Waukeen in Trademeet (6,750 XP).
• Overgold Renwellyn questions Barl who summons two poison mists and attacks the party (25,000 XP). O.R then gives us an antidote for Pala. Go outside, rest for a day, and Mazzy should rejoin the party.

Sword of Arvoreen

Another gift to Mazzy from Arvoreen, this short sword may only be used by halflings. The enchantments that exist within this sword give it the ability to slow any opponent struck by it.

• Abilities: Target must save vs. wand or have movement rated slowed by 2 (for 45 seconds).  Wielder of the sword is immune to slow and stun effects.

• Proficiency Type: Short Sword
• Type: 1-handed
• Usable By: Halflings

Bow of Arvoreen

This enchanted bow has been in Mazzy Fentan's possession for several years, given to her by her god Arvoreen.  It is usable only by halflings, granting a +2 bonus to hit rolls.

• Speed Factor: 6
• Proficiency Type: Short Bow
• Type: 2-handed
• Not Usable By: Druid, Cleric, Mage

Mazzy Proficiencies

Proficiencies: Shortsword (****), Shortbow (*****).

Mazzy prefers to wield Tuigan BG2, though she can be tailored to almost any weapon proficiency. Note that it is best not to Grandmaster Mazzy in weapons; just get Specialization.

The best armor for Mazzy is Drow Full Plate or Full Plate Mail.
