Blindness BG2 Spell

Blindness is a BG2 Best Spell of Illusion spells BG2 type in BioWare's cRPG of 1998-2001, Baldur's Gate 2. Blindness is a single-target, quick-fire immobilizer that nerfs the victim's vision radius to 1 point of reach and debuffs their THAC0 and AC by 10 points for 10 turns [1]. Save vs. spells negates. Blinded victims do not attack unless they are adjacent to hostiles, meaning they can be freely attacked with two-handed reach weapons and ranged weapons and spells. Suffice it to say, blinded enemies are dead meat.

Blindness vastly reduces the vision radius of the victim - from Greywolf to Firkraag - meaning they just stand there like idiots, looking completely lost, while the party wears them down with projectiles and direct damage spells. 

In fact, blinded dragons won't attack if we melee them with "reach weapons" like halberds, two-handed swords or monk fists (which have a range of 2). Throw Blindness into a Minor Sequencer along with another crippling spell such as Ray of Enfeeblement to turn THAC0 and dmg lords like dragons into harmless oversized butterflies.

Blindness is a god-tier spell.

Blindness can be cast on non-hostiles, who will not go aggro even when blinded.

Blindness Description

This first level spell temporarily blinds its target. A saving throw is allowed, and if successful there are no harmful effects. If a victim is blinded he receives -4 to hit on his attack rolls, and has a 4 point armor penalty.

In Baldur's Gate 1, the Blindness spell is found for sale at High Hedge and Sorcerous Sundries.

In Baldur's Gate 2, the Blindness spell is found for sale at Spell Store Baldur's Gate 2 and Lady Yuth BG2.

Thus, every Baldur's Gate companion in Best Party BG2 can get this powerful spell very early in the game.
