Summon Planetar is a BG2 Best Spell and BG2 HLA in BioWare's cRPG of 2000-2001, Baldur's Gate 2. Summon Planetar is a tenth level HLA spell which is great for lazy players: just sit back and watch this juggernaut go to town on mobs with its on-hit 25% vorpal and on-hit Dispel and on-hit vorpal Silver Sword arcing back and forth at 6 ApR under Improved Haste.

Summon Planetar is a god-tier spell.

Being gated and not summoned the Planetar is also immune to the Death Spell. To top it off, the Planetar has access to its own extensive divine and arcane repertoire that it doesn't hesitate to unleash; the Good-aligned version can even Heal itself. Sit back, and enjoy the show.

Summon Planetar Spell Rules

Summon Planetar Description


This spell opens a celestial gate and calls forth a planetar to fight at the caster's side until the spell expires or the planetar's avatar is slain.

The stats for the Planetar are AC -8, HPs 110, THAC0 -3, ApR 4.

Summon Planetar Weapon


The Planetar wields a Silver Sword that inflicts 2d10 +3 slashing. The Silver Sword sports on-hit 25% vorpal, on-hit level 15 Dispel Magic and on-hit cure Feeblemindedness.

The Planetar inflicts an average of 25 slashing damage per hit.

The Planetar is immune to fire, cold and electricity.
