Fighter NWN
It's best to take only four levels of the Fighter class; you probably won't need the feats beyond that. (When hitting epic levels, it's best start retaking Fighter levels for their epic feats, though.)
I recommend going Human NWN with the following stat-line: 16-13-16-dump-13-dump. 13 Dex for Dodge, 13 Int for Expertise NWN.

Start off with Weapon Focus: Scimitar (nice crit range and shield off-hand), Power Attack and Cleave.
- 2nd level take Dodge (harder to hit)
- 3rd take Toughness (can take more hits)
- 4th take Weapon Specialization (+dmg)
This will give newbies an early boost to killing power and survivability. Great Cleave can be helpful in the OC because the mobs are pretty weak, and there are many such mobs.
Clicky aka activated feats such as Knockdown, Disarm, Expertise and their Improved versions can mix things up a bit. That way, we're not just auto-attacking all the time.

When leveling, pump the Strength stat and the Tumble and Spellcraft skills (even though they are cross-class skills).
Branch into something like Barbarian for Rage, damage reduction and +movement speed because taking more in Fighter is a waste (you don't need all the Feats on offer; indeed, you may run out of useful feats to take).

Fighter Description
Fighters have the best all-around fighting capabilities of the PC classes, and they are trained to use all standard weapons and armor. A fighter's rigorous martial training grants him many bonus feats as he progresses, and high-level fighters have access to special melee maneuvers and exotic weapons not available to any other character.
- Hit Die: d10.
- Proficiencies: All simple and martial weapons, all armor, and shields.
- Skill Points (*4 at 1st level): 2 + Int Modifier.
