GREATER WHIRLWIND ATTACK: Baldur's Gate 2, BG2

Greater Whirlwind Attack BG2

In Baldur's Gate 2, Greater Whirlwind Attack aka GWW is a high level ability or BG2 HLA that is available to warriors such as Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Barbarian and Monk.

GWW is not so useful for dual-wielders since they can already get 10 ApR through Improved Haste. However, GWW allows for 10 ApR under two-handed weapon and sword n board setups, which is otherwise not possible.

GWW is vital for high-level Monks.

Along with Critical Strike and Hardiness, Greater Whirlwind Attack is the best warrior HLA.

A more powerful version of the Whirlwind Attack, Greater Whirlwind gives the fighter the same bonuses without penalties. Their number of attacks per round are set to 10 for one round.

The prerequisite of GWW is Whirlwind, which is also confers 10 ApR but inflicts a 4-point THAC0 penalty. This is what Swashbucklers are stuck with.
