Obsidian Entertainment released Neverwinter Nights 2 for Windows PCs in October of 2006. Neverwinter Nights 2 is a cRPG built on the Electron Engine. Neverwinter Nights 2 is the successor to BioWare's Neverwinter Nights of 2002.
Neverwinter Nights 2 requires at minimum an Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz CPU, 512 megs of RAM, 6x CD-ROM and 6.5 gigs of hard disk drive space.
Neverwinter Nights 2 supports 3D hardware acceleration via ATI Radeon 9800 or NVIDIA GeForce 6600 with 128 megs of vRAM and Vertex Shader 2.0 and Pixel Shader 2.0. Neverwinter Nights 2 commonly displays in 4:3 800x600 up to 16:9 1920x1080. Neverwinter Nights 3D supports point-light shadows, far shadows, soft shadows, actor shadows, environment shadows, bloom effects, HDR, normal mapped terrain, weather effects, reflections, refractions, anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering of texture-mapping.
Neverwinter Nights 2 runs from Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7-11 operating systems. Neverwinter Nights 2 runs with DirectX 9.0c to DirectX 12.
