HALF-ORC, Neverwinter Nights

Half-orc NWN

Half-Orc is a playable race in BioWare's cRPG Definition of 2002, Neverwinter Nights. Half-Orcs make for great Barbarian NWN. They are the only race that grants +Strength but the penalty to Intelligence is undesirable for NWN Builds that want to be skillful.

Half-Orc NWN Description

Half-orcs are the short-tempered and sullen result of human and orc pairings. They would rather act than ponder and would rather fight than argue. They love simple pleasures, such as feasting, boasting, and wild dancing. They are an asset at the right sort of party, but not at the duchess's grand ball. Half-orcs are as tall as humans but their brutish features betray their lineage. They also regard scars as tokens of pride and things of beauty. They rarely reach 75 years in age.

Half-Orc Favored Class

The Favored Class for Half-Orc is Barbarian: A multiclass half-orc's barbarian class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing.

Half-Orc Ability Adjustments

Half-Orc ability adjustments are +2 Strength, -1 Intelligence and -2 Charisma.

Half-Orc NWN Special Abilities

  • Darkvision: Half-orcs are able to see in the dark.

Half-orc NWN2

In the wild frontiers, tribes of human and orc barbarians live in uneasy balance, fighting in times of war and trading in times of peace. Half-orcs who are born in the frontier may live with either human or orc parents, but they are nevertheless exposed to both cultures. Some, for whatever reason, leave their homeland and travel to civilized lands, bringing with them the tenacity, courage, and combat prowess that they developed in the wilds.

  • Ability Adjustments: +2 Strength, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma.
  • Darkvision: Half-orcs can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
  • Favored Class: Barbarian. A multiclass half-orc's barbarian class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty. Ferocity runs in a half-orc's veins.
