Notable for increasing movement speed, Boots of Speed is a BG1 Item in BioWare's cRPG of 1998, Baldur's Gate 1.

Boots of Speed Description

These enchanted boots were once the property of a deadly assassin fond of chasing down his prey. He moved with such speed that his targets often didn't have the opportunity to respond, even on horseback. Over time the assassin's fame spread, and though his name was never known, all knew to fear the words last heard by his victims: "you can hide, but you cannot run!"

Boots of Speed ApR

In Baldur's Gate 2 (BG2), in addition to a non-trivial movement rate bonus, the Boots of Speed erroneously grant +½ ApR Baldur's Gate on top of fractional ApR only (a rounding up).

Thus, 3½ ApR + BoS = 4 ApR -- but -- 3 ApR + BoS ≠ 3½ ApR.
