Dungeon Rats: Throwing Weapons

Throwing Weapons are a weapon-type in Iron Tower Studios' cRPG of 2016, Dungeon Rats.

Often overlooked because they lack the power of their mechanically-assisted cousins, throwing weapons make up for their shorter range and power with their greater speed and finesse. A warrior skilled with throwing weapons can literally barrage an opponent with missiles.

Ever been hit in the back by a javelin? How about one after the other? I feel your pain.

Throwing weapons can be poisoned and sharpened; 20 missiles per vial or whetstone. To do that, drag the vial and whetstone onto a throwing weapon that is equipped in a weapon slot of the character. Note that creatures which inflict poison are immune to poison (e.g, ants and scorpions). Don't waste your precious poison ammo on them.

  • Passive: % chance Armor-bypassing
  • Attacks: Fast, Regular, Power, Arterial Strike, Aimed: Torso / Legs / Arms, Multishot, Feint
  • Crafting techniques: Balanced, Masterwork, Hardened Edge, Serrated Edge
  • CompanionsRoxana is tailored to Throwing Weapons

I've added in Stones, Nets and Bolas because they've got to be put somewhere...

Note: Crafted stats shown are those of steel, since that's the middle-point.

Stone aka Rock

A small stone suitable for throwing. Can be placed in belt slot.

Net

◦ Speed AP: 4, Hardness: 0%

Bolas

A weapon consisting of two heavy balls secured to the ends of a strong rope, hurled to entangle the legs of cattle and other animals. It works even better on two legged animals and can be thrown to entangle legs or choke. Can be placed in belt slot. Again, immobilization.

Crude Javelin

Sharpened, fire-hardened wooden shafts. Can be placed in belt slot.

A tip-heavy javelin carried by legionnaires, the pilum has an iron head mounted on a wooden shaft. The pilum will penetrate enemy shields with ease, and can even be effective against heavy armor. Can be placed in belt slot.
