Shield of Harmony is a BG2 item in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. The best shield in Baldur's Gate 2 is the Shield of Harmony due to its on-equip mindshield and ease of acquisition in Trademeet.
The only time we would subout Shield of Harmony is when we are battling Beholders. cf. Shield of Balduran.
The Shield of Harmony is useful for non-Kensai BG2 warriors when they go up against Mage BG2. We can equip the shield when the spellcaster casts a spell, and then switch back to dual-wielding or two-handing once the threat of mind-affecting has passed.
Note that Berserker BG2 and Barbarian BG2 have natural access to mindshield, and Chaotic Commands confers mindshield as well.
Shield of Harmony Description
Audn of the Field, Knight-Champion for the wizard Kekkim, carried this shield for most of his life. It protects the bearer from most forms of mind control, a benefit for a wizard who needed warrior allies to stay faithfully at his side. Both Kekkim and Audn have long since returned to the earth, leaving the shield to whomever might recover it from Kekkim's tower.
Shield of Harmony Stats
- Abilities: Immunity to charm, confusion, domination, and hold person
- Armor Class Bonus: 3
- Weight: 2
- Requires: 4 Strength
- Not Usable By: Bard, Druid, Mage, Thief
Technically, Shield of Harmony bestows immunity to the following effects: charm (+domination), confusion, paralysis, hold. And spells: Confusion.
