Bard BG2

Bard is a BG2 class in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. The Blade is the best Bard. The Skald was good until Throne of Bhaal introduced HLAs. Jester are, as the name suggests, a laughing stock, but Jesters can be effective laughing stocks in certain situations. Note that the effects of bard songs stack, and singing songs does NOT break Invisibility status.

Bards sport faster level progression than Mage BG2 meaning that spells with level-based variables are more effective when cast by Bards. What does this mean in BG2? Well, to give one example that I think is notable, it means they get 5 ApR Sword Spiders and tanky Skeleton Warriors before Mages.

In fact, Mages must earn 310,000 more XP than Bards to get those spiders, and 775,000 more XP than Bards to get those undead. But not only that. You see, Bards can also reach caster level 40 whereas Mages can only reach caster level 31.

That means Bards cast the most powerful Dispel Magic and Remove Magic of all arcanists, too.

In addition:

The ability to wear the Robe of Vecna BG2, get access to HLA traps plus six circles of arcane spellcasting that grant access to low level BG2 Best Spells seals the deal for the bard.
Bards have no problems reaching 100% magic resistance BG2 through Use Any Item BG2.

The bard is also a rogue, but he is very different from the thief. His strength is his pleasant and charming personality. With it and his wits he makes his way through the world. A bard is a talented musician and a walking storehouse of gossip, tall tales, and lore. He learns a little bit about everything that crosses his path; he is a jack-of-all- trades but master of none. While many bards are scoundrels, their stories and songs are welcome almost everywhere.
