aTweaks BG2

aTweaks is a Baldur's Gate 2 mod for BioWare's cRPG of 2000-2001, Baldur's Gate 2. aTweaks is most notable for its Fiendish Gating, PnP Fiends and Revised Fiend Summoning components which greatly increased BG2 difficulty when used in conjunction with fey, undead and elemental revisions.

For example, aTweaks includes 8x Baatezu, 9x Tanar'ri and 3x yugoloth. It adds 32 fiend abilities and modifies three fiend-gating spells: Cacofiend, Summon Fiend and Gate. Hostile fiends and even mephits can gate in others of their kind as well.

aTweaks is compatible with SCS BG2. It is also recommended to have BG2 Fixpack installed. My Sword Coast Stratagems Guide employs aTweaks.

 

Do NOT install Fiendish Gating unless you're up for a challenge.

• Restore innate infravision to Half-Orc characters
• Prevent skeletal and incorporeal undead from being affected by Illithids' Devour Brain attack
• Change Spiritual Hammer into a ranged force weapon
• Allow Dispel Magic / Remove Magic to take down Globe of Invulnerability

• Make druidic shapeshifting uninterruptable
• Prevent Mislead clones from singing Bard songs
• Prevent Project Image and Simulacrum clones from using quickslot items
• Make Death Ward protect against Vorpal Hits
• Restore the Dispel Magic vulnerability to Nishruu and Hakeashar
• Make alignment detection spells more accurate
• Expanded saving throw bonus tables for Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings
• Bard songs break invisibility -> All Bard songs break invisibility
• Altered XP rewards from locks, traps and scrolls -> Improved (lowered) XP rewards from locks, traps and scrolls
• Unbiased quest rewards
• Simple Thief script

• Use Icewind Dale's Dimension Door animation -> Fast animation speed, shorter delay between animation start and creature appearance/disappearance
