CRYPT CRAWLER, Baldur's Gate

Crypt Crawler Baldur's Gate

Crypt Crawler is a Baldur's Gate enemy in BioWare's cRPG of 1998, Baldur's Gate. Crypt Crawlers are super-Carrion Crawlers found on Durlag's Tower level 4; usually in the company of Greater Ghouls, including Grael. Crypt Crawlers are notable for their paralyzing tentacle attack as well as hitting the maximum attack rate in Baldur's Gate.

Crypt Crawler Stats

Offensively, Crypt Crawlers have THAC0s of 9 and inflict an average of 1.5 piercing damage at a rate of 5 ApR (Hasted), wielding 1d2 tentacles that also inflict on-hit 7-round duration paralysis on failed saves vs. Death.

So while the tentacles don't inflict much damage, rigidly immobile victims are going to get pierced to pieces in short order if the paralysis is not dispelled. Note that free action status wards against paralysis.

Defensively, Crypt Crawlers have ACs of 3, 32 HPs and saving throws of 13-15-14-16-16.

Two Crypt Crawlers chase the party along an acidic passageway.

Crypt Crawlers have a morale of 10, morale break of 3 and morale recovery of 30.

420 XP.
