STALKER, Baldur's Gate 2

Stalker BG2

Stalker is a BG2 class in BioWare's cRPG of 2000, Baldur's Gate 2. Stalker is a Ranger kit that can cast some Mage spells BG2, but the spells it can cast are utterly useless. In addition, the backstab takes a long time to mature: we don't reach x4 backstab until 17th, which for Rangers is a whopping 2.7m XP. Meanwhile, our Thief has x5 backstab at just 660k. If you want to backstab, roll with Kensai Thief.

The best weapon for Stalker is Celestial Fury in SoA and SotR in ToB.

Note that Valygar is a Stalker.

Stalker Description

Stalkers serve as covert intelligence-gatherers, comfortable in both wilderness and urban settings.  They are the spies, informants, and interrogators, and their mastery of stealth makes them deadly opponents.

  • May backstab for a lesser amount than the thief class (level 1-8: x1, level 9-16: x2, level 17+: x3)
  • Has access to three mage spells at 12th level.  They are Haste, Protection from Normal Missiles and Minor Spell Deflection.

Stalker Disadvantages

  • May not wear armor greater than studded leather
