There are 15x first circle or 1-level Druid spells in ToEE. The best Level 1 Druid spells are Summon Nature's Ally I and one of the best spells in the game, Entangle (see above pic).
• Unbolded: the spell may or may not be useful
• Bolded: the spell is generally worth selecting or scribing
• Blue: King-tier or key spell: a spell we don't want to miss
• Red: Bottom-tier or all but useless spell
• Format is: Spell name / Spell school / Item code for scroll / rule
◦ Calm Animals (Enchantment) {9047}
There are not many mundane animals in ToEE
◦ Charm Animal (Enchantment) {9057}
See above
◦ Cure Light Wounds (Conjuration) {9090}
Heals 1d8 +1 per caster level up to +5 max. Harms undead.
◦ Endure Elements (Abjuration) {9149} [rule]
24 hour, 5-point damage reduction of acid, cold, electricity, fire OR sonic. Since such damage types are rare in the low levels, this spell is of limited utility.
◦ Entangle (Transmutation) {9153}
King-tier spell. 40' radius lockdown on mobs. DC-20 strength to escape entanglement.
◦ Faerie Fire (Evocation) {9163}
There are not enough enemies that employ invisibility or concealment to make this spell useful.
◦ Good Berry (Transmutation) {9199}
We can make 2d4 berries per day that cure 1 hit point of damage, up to 8 HPs per day. This spell is so amazing that I need to sit down just thinking about how amazing it is.
◦ Hide From Animals (Abjuration) {9256}
There are not many mundane animals in ToEE
◦ Longstrider (Transmutation) {9661}
Increases movement rate by 10' for 1 hour per level. Not bad.
◦ Magic Fang (Transmutation) {9286}
+1 to attack and damage on our animal companion. Nice.
◦ Magic Stone (Transmutation) {9290}
Let's make PEBBLES that inflict 1d6 +1 or 2d6 +2 to undead when thrown. Wow.
◦ Obscuring Mist (Conjuration) {9333}
Low level concealment spell that doesn't conceal us when the enemy is right in our face. Of limited utility.
◦ Produce Flame (Evocation) {9364}
Let's make FLAMES that inflict 1d6 +1 fire damage per caster level up to max 5 on touch attack or from range. Yawn.
◦ Shillelagh (Transmutation) {9430}
Creates a magical quarterstaff that inflicts 1d10 +1 damage for 1 min per caster level. I'd rather wield a longspear for extended reach.
◦ Summon Nature's Ally I (Conjuration) {9476}
Dire rat, viper or wolf meatbag. Very useful. Two 17-HP dire rats at first level kick ass. Summons are capped at 5.
◦ Charm Animal (Enchantment) {9057}
