Baldur's Gate 1 is worth playing in 2024 because it is one of the greatest cRPGs of all-time. Along with Fallout 1, Baldur's gate sparked a Renaissance in cRPG History. Baldur's Gate 1 features a great story, unforgettable characters and beautiful artwork along with immersive dialogue, questing and exploration. It is a classic! Don't forget to play the expansion as well, since it features the greatest dungeon in cRPG history, Durlag's Tower.
In a nutshell, Baldur's Gate 1 did almost everything well, and it was well-balanced between combat, story and exploration.
