In Jagged Alliance 2, the problem with the grenade launcher is that it's rare. Also, assault rifles can fire 40mm grenades if fitted with an underslung grenade launcher attachment. That said, ARs lack the range of a proper launcher such as this, which is also much lighter than ARs.
