H&K G41 5.56mm assault rifle

The H&K G41 5.56mm assault rifle is the best overall weapon in Jagged Alliance 2. This mostly hinges on it being generously itemized: by the time we've hit our stride in central Cambria, we could have found seven or eight of them. 

Plus, we will be swimming in 5.56mm AP and HP ammo. The H&K G41 is neither the cheapest to fire (APs) and nor does it inflict the most damage or have the longest range, but it's a solid all-rounder whose viability is long-lasting (three-quarters of the campaign). 

Thus, I rank it numero uno. Note that it's possible to acquire a H&K G41 from the get-go if we hire Gus Tarballs. It's also purchaseable from Bobby Ray's at around the point of reaching Cambria. By Cambria, the H&K G41 is outclassed by the C-7 and then by the FN-FAL, but the C-7 is rarer and the FN-FAL becomes available once we push west, and into Orta.
