Iguana Entertainment ported Midway's NBA Jam Tournment Edition aka NBA Jam TE coinop of 1994 to IBM PC MS-DOS 5.0 in 1995.
NBA Jam Tournament Edition gameplay consists in single-player or two-player simultaneous two-on-two basketball, with one substitute player. Players select one of 27 NBA teams and then control one NBA player while the computer controls the other. The object of NBA Jam TE is to defeat the other 26 NBA Teams in Tournament mode, and then defeat the Super Star and Special Teams. 25% of NBA players are represented.
NBA Jam TE displays in 256-color non-standard square-pixel VGA 320x240. NBA Jam TE animates four big-headed digitized sprites on a smoothly-scrolling playfield. The sprite designs and animations are exaggerated for comical effect.
NBA Jam TE requires an i80486SX 33 MHz CPU, 8 megs of RAM and VGA graphics card with 1 meg of vRAM.
NBA Jam TE is a Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected mode run-time v1.97.
NBA Jam TE supports 2x 4-button gamepads, 2x 2-button joysticks and 2x keyboard control.
NBA Jam TE controls include 8-way movement, shoot/block, pass/steal and Turbo. Shots include layups, dunks, jump-shots and three-pointers. There is no fouling, free-throw shooting or out-of-bounds rules enforcement, but goal-tending and a shot-clock is included.
Each player is constituted by eight stats that range from 0-9 points: Speed, 3-pointers, Dunk, Pass, Power, Steal, Block and Clutch.
NBA Jam TE features record-keeping and displays half-time and full-time tracking of nine stats.
Audio-wise, NBA Jam TE employs extensive digitized sound effects and speech commentary.
NBA Jam TE MIDI music supports General MIDI, Ensoniq SoundScape. Gravis UltraSound MIDI Synth, Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster AWE-32, Sound Blaster Pro New, Sound Blaster Pro Old, Media Vision Pro Audio Spectrum Old, Pro Audio Spectrum Plus/16, AdLib Music Synthesizer Card, AdLib Gold Music Synthesizer Card, ESS Technology ES688 FM Audio, Generic Yamaha OPL3-based FM Music Synthesizer, Roland MT-32 MIDI with MPU-401 MIDI Interface, Tandy 3-voice music, IBM Internal Speaker music.

NBA Jam TE was distributed on 1x CD-ROM and extracts and installs to hard disk drive via NBA Jam TE Installation and Sound Configuration by Miles Design. The full install size is 12 megs and consists of 500 files.
