Hitmen Productions of Canada released NBA Live 96 for IBM PC MS-DOS 5.0 on December 31 of 1995.
NBA Live 96 was preceded by NBA Live 95 of 1995.
NBA Live 96 displays its menus and 3D texture-mapped playfield in 256-color VGA 320x200 or 256-color SVGA 640x480. NBA Live 96 employs reflections, anti-aliasing and Virtual Stadium Technology that allows for 16 different camera angles, switchable on-the-fly.
The PC version of NBA Live 96 was lead-programmed by Robert White, and the lead artist was Cindy Green.
NBA Live 96 requires an i80486DX2-66 MHz CPU, 460,800 bytes of free conventional RAM, 7,424,000 bytes of XMS RAM and VESA SVGA graphics card with 512K of vRAM. NBA Live 96 is a Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected mode run-time v1.97.
NBA Live 96 supports joystick, Gravis Gamepad or keyboard control.
NBA Live 96 audio supports Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster 16, Sound Blaster Pro, Windows Sound System, Gravis UltraSound and Ensoniq SoundScape.
NBA Live 96 was distributed on 1x CD-ROM and extracts and installs to hard disk drive via NBA Live 96 Install. The install size is 200 megs and consists of 900 files.
