Cybernetic is a SMAC Social Engineering Future Society in Firaxis' TBS Game of 1999, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (SMAC). In the far future, citizens may turn many of the tasks of governing society over to artificially intelligent computers, increasing efficiency and freeing humans for more creative tasks. But will workers displaced by computers sink into despair, poverty, and possible unrest?
