The Kel-Morian Combine Brood War

The Kel-Morian Combine is the third mission of the Zerg Campaign in Blizzard's RTS expansion of 1998, StarCraft: Brood War. Staged on Moria, The Kel-Morian Combine sets the Zerg Swarm against the six forces of the Kel-Morian Combine: Mar Sara and Elite Guard; Cronus and Atlas Wing; and Delta and Epsilon Squadrons. In addition, the Kel-Morian Combine introduces the ally, Fenix, an enhanced Dragoon of the Protoss.

The Kel-Morian Combine Mission Objectives

• Obtain 10,000 minerals.
• Fenix must survive.
• Infest Terran Command Centers for the next mission.

Remember to employ the enhanced Dragoon, Fenix. Over stock Dragoon Phase Disruptors, Fenix's Phase Disruptor inflicts +25 damage at +8 cooldown. And Fenix has +140 health and +2 armor over stock Dragoons, but no bonus to range.

Take the three closest resource deposits and defend them. I had no problems defending the bases with meagre reinforcements until the eight-minute mark, when Ghosts appeared and I did not have Overlords at the northernmost base to detect them. Thus, I lost the units up there but still managed to mine enough minerals with the other two bases to the south.

I did not attempt to infest any Terran Command Centers; too dangerous for an Iron Man run.
