Actua Soccer IBM PC MS-DOS 1995 Gremlin Interactive

Actua Soccer PC DOS

Gremlin Interactive released Actua Soccer for IBM PC MS-DOS 5.0 in 1995 in Europe. Actua Soccer was renamed to VR Soccer '96 for its March 1996 release in the USA.

Actua Soccer was designed by Andy Findlay and Ade Carless.

Actua Soccer displays its menus and 3D texture-mapped playfield in 256-color VGA 320x200 or 256-color square-pixel SVGA 640x480, but Actua Soccer's in-game SVGA render-field is "only" 640x400. The ball and football players in Actua are polygonal models rendered in real-time 3D, not rotating and scaling sprites.

Actua Soccer requires an i80486DX-33 MHz CPU, 500K of free conventional RAM, 3 megs of XMS RAM and VESA SVGA graphics card. Actua Soccer is a Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected mode run-time v1.97.

Actua Soccer supports joysticks or keyboard control.

Actua Soccer features toggleable skyline and video wall as well as tailorable detail for lines, stadium, pitch and players.

Actua Soccer sound supports Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster 16, Sound Blaster Pro, Sound Blaster AWE-32, Gravis UltraSound, Gravis UltraSound MAX, Ensoniq SoundScape and Microsoft Sound System.
