FIFA International Soccer PC DOS 1994
Creative Assembly released FIFA International Soccer for IBM PC MS-DOS 5.0 in 1994. FIFA International Soccer was ported to IBM PC MS-DOS from the Sega Genesis original by Electronic Arts Canada, which was released in December of 1993.
FIFA International Soccer displays its isometric playfield in 256-color VGA 320x200.
The IBM PC version of FIFA International Soccer was programmed by Tim Ansell, Clive Gratton and Adrian Panton.
FIFA International Soccer requires an i80386-25 MHz CPU, 4 megs of RAM and VGA graphics card. Supports DoubleSpace and joystick and Gravis PC Gamepad.
FIFA International Soccer was distributed on 3x 3.5" 1.44MB HD diskettes and extracts and installs to hard disk drive via Electronic Arts Installation program. The hard disk drive install size is 7.3 megs.
FIFA International Soccer sounds supports AdLib Gold, Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster 2.0, Sound Blaster 16, Sound Blaster Pro, Sound Blaster New, Sound Blaster MCA, Sound Blaster AWE-32, Pro Audio Spectrum, Pro Audio Spectrum 16 and SFX Classic 3000.
FIFA International Soccer music supports Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster 2.0, Sound Blaster 16, Sound Blaster Pro, Sound Blaster New, Sound Blaster MCA, AdLib, AdLib Gold, Wave Blaster, Pro Audio Spectrum, Pro Audio Spectrum 16, SFX Classic 3000 and Roland LAPC-I/SSC-1.
While certainly not a bad soccer game, FIFA International Soccer is not as full-featured or as fast or fun to play as the older top-down English football games on the Amiga.

Extended Play Productions released FIFA Soccer 96 / FIFA 96: Virtual Soccer Stadium for IBM PC MS-DOS in December of 1995.
The PC version of FIFA Soccer 96 was lead-programmed by Penny Lee, lead-drawn by Caroline Ancessi and lead-composed by Rob Bailey.
FIFA Soccer 96 displays its menus and 3D texture-mapped playfield in 256-color VGA 320x200 or 256-color square-pixel SVGA 640x480. The ball and football players in FIFA Soccer 96 are pre-rendered, motion-captured rotating and scaling drop-shadowed sprites, not 3D models.
FIFA Soccer 96 requires an i80486DX2-66 MHz CPU, 300K of free conventional memory, 7.5 megs of XMS memory and VESA SVGA graphics card. FIFA Soccer 96 is a Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected mode run-time v1.97.
FIFA Soccer 96 supports 4-button joysticks and gamepads.
FIFA Soccer 96 audio supports Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster 16, Sound Blaster Pro, Gravis UltraSound and Windows Sound System.
FIFA Soccer 96 was distributed on 1x CD-ROM extracts and installs to hard disk drive via FIFA '96 Install. The install size is 20 megs and consists of 200 files.

Extended Play Productions released FIFA Soccer 97 for Windows 95 DirectX 2.0 and IBM PC MS-DOS in June of 1996. Note the inferior titlescreen and menus in comparison to FIFA Soccer 96 of 1995: not as bright, not as clear and not as professional, period. Still, FIFA Soccer 97 is a good, full-featured football game.
The PC version of FIFA Soccer 97 was lead-programmed by Darren Gyles, lead-drawn by Terry Chui and composed by Graeme Coleman.
FIFA Soccer 97 displays its menus and 3D texture-mapped playfield in 256-color square-pixel SVGA 640x480. The ball and football players in FIFA Soccer 97 are polygonal models rendered in real-time 3D, not rotating and scaling sprites (as in FIFA Soccer 96 of 1995).
The MS-DOS version of FIFA Soccer 97 requires an Intel Pentium 75 MHz CPU, 8 megs of RAM and PCI/VLB SVGA graphics card with 1 meg of vRAM. The Windows 95 version of FIFA Soccer 97 requires 16 megs of RAM. FIFA Soccer 97 is a Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected mode run-time v1.97.
