LucasFilm Games released Their Finest Hour: The Battle of Britain in October of 1989 for IBM PC MS-DOS. Their Finest Hour was designed and programmed by Lawrence Holland and drawn by Martin Cameron and James McLeod.
Their Finest Hour is the successor of LucasFilm Games' Battlehawks 1942 of 1988 and the predecessor of Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe of 1991.
Their Finest Hour is notable for its historical accuracy, formational flight and realistic WWII dogfighting and dive-bombing tactics.
In Their Finest Hour players can pilot two different British Royal Air Force aircraft and six different German Luftwaffe aircraft.
Their Finest Hour was distributed on 2x 3.5" 720kB diskettes or 4x 5.25" 360kB floppy disks. Their Finest Hour installs to hard disk drive via Their Finest Hour Installation. The install size is 2.7 megs and consists of 184 files.
Audio-wise, Their Finest Hour features AdLib sound effects by Eric Hammond and IBM PC Speaker sound effects by Waldo Kagan.
Their Finest Hour controls support mouse, keyboard or analogue joystick.
