As it pertains to raw defense, Ruby Rune Plate is the best armor in Prophesy of Pendor. To get it, we need to capture either Aeldarian or Ithilrandir. Then, we need to demand they give us the Mystical Rune Plate in exchange for their release. Then, we need to go to the Hidden Mines of Al-Aziz and give the Aziz Hermit Wine, a Qualis Gem and Large Pouch of Diamonds in exchange for the Ruby Rune Plate.
The mines are unlocked by giving Brother Randalf a Large Pouch of Diamonds. The diamonds are bought from the Guildmasters of towns with which we have good standing, and Qualis Gems are acquired by capturing and releasing the leaders of Unique Spawns.
