Warband Best Armor

As it pertains to raw defense, the best armor Mount & Blade: Warband is Lordly Plate armor. Lordly Armor consists of the following four pieces:

Warband Lordly Armor

• Lordly Plate Armor [Calradia, Perisno, Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth]
• Lordly Winged Great Helm [Perisno]
• Lordly Plate Boots [Calradia, Perisno]
• Lordly Gauntlets [Perisno, Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth]

In Native (that is "vanilla" Warband), this results in armor ratings of head armor 61, body armor 74 and leg armor 62. For increased survivability, a Reinforced Steel Shield is recommended (blocking).

As can be seen from the secondary links above, mods tend to crank up armor ratings and confer additional armor modifiers to the pieces. For example, body armor may confer additional head and leg protection, and leg and head armor may confer additional body protection. This can result in epic tanking for the ages.

One of the most impressive examples is Lordly Ayutthaya Royal Quilt Armor of Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth, which confers a massive +61 bonus to leg armor.
