Alien Research X-COM UFO Defense

Alien Research is critical research component in X-COM UFO Defense. Alien Research is unlocked by capturing a living alien of any type or rank. In the early stages of X-COM, an alien can be captured with Stun Rod X-COM. However, we need to have built Alien Containment X-COM in order to research the captured alien. Without alien containment, the captured alien dies.

The alien research mission is used for collecting basic data on earth and its inhabitants. Small vehicles are predominantly used, with occasional landings in deserted areas. This type of alien activity poses the least threat to X-COM, with little concern from governments or the public.
