Battle Arena Toshinden requires an i80486DX2 66 MHz CPU, 480K of free conventional memory and 8 megs of XMS memory. Battle Arena Toshinden is a v1.97 Rational Systems DOS/4GW Protected Mode run-time.
Battle Arena Toshinden displays its menus in 256-color SVGA 640x480 but the actual arenas are only 256-color VGA 320x200 (scaled by CRTs to 240). Battle Arena Toshinden supports 3D acceleration via the likes of Creative Labs 3D Blaster and Diamond Edge 3D.
Battle Arena Toshinden was distributed by Playmates Interactive Entertainment on 1x CD-ROM and extracts and installs to hard disk drive via Battle Arena Toshinden Installation. The install size is 15 megs and consists of 28 files.
Battle Arena Toshinden supports serial, modem and IPX or NetBios network-play.
