Priestess of Hextor Cleric Build ToEE


The Priestess of Hextor Cleric Build is a ToEE Build for the Temple+ mod for Troika's cRPG of 2003, Temple of Elemental Evil.

Version: Temple+ 1.0.75 base (no extra content/no Houserules).


This Priestess of Hextor Cleric build for ToEE employs touch attacks that inflict negative energy damage or simply slay the victim outright.

  • Domains: Law & Destruction.
  • Strength: as high as you can get it
  • Dexterity: max for Ranged Touch Attacks (24 max)
  • Constitution: as high as you can get it (+Concentration)
  • Intelligence: you can get by with 8 (Spellcraft + Concentration)
  • Wisdom: max to 18, pump every 4 lvls for +2 (26 max)
  • Charisma: can dump

Ranged Touch Attacks are Dexterity-based for the purposes of to-hit:


Thus, there is no need to take Weapon Finesse.

(Armor, shield and natural AC bonuses don't apply: only Dexterity, Dodge/Deflection bonuses apply assuming the victim isn't flat-footed).

Note that you can roll critical hits and misses on TAs:


(On crits, the victim can still make their saving throw and reduce the damage by half).

Be sure to activate Cast Defensively or you will provoke an AoO that may disrupt your spellcasting:


• Destruction Domain grants us a bonus Inflict Light Wounds, ICW and MILW as well as a bonus Contagion whereas Law Domain should grant us Caster Level +1, but doesn't.

• Remember that, with the exception of spells with sub-selections (such as Contagion), Spontaneous Casting allows us to convert any memorized spell into an Inflict Wounds spell. In order to convert, simply hold the Shift key down when the cursor is hovered over the spell's selector in the radial menu.

• Heighten Spell is taken in order to promote ICW domain to 5th circle.

• We can heal our undead minions with IW spells (Animate Dead). In addition, Rebuke Undead is capable of instantly adding an undead mob for us to control:


Temple+ Cleric Build Spell Slots


At 10th level, and assuming the max 26 Wisdom, we have the following spell slots:

  • 0-level: 6x Inflict Minor Wounds
  • 1-level: 6x Inflict Light Wounds (base), 1x ILW (Destruction) or 1x Protection From Chaos (Law)
  • 2-level: 5x Inflict Moderate Wounds + 1x Shatter (Destruction) or 1x Calm Emotions (Law)
  • 3-level: 4x Inflict Serious Wounds + 1x Contagion (Destruction) or 1x Magical Circle AC (Law)
  • 4-level: 4x Inflict Critical Wounds + 1x ICW (Destruction) or Order's Wrath (Law)
  • 5-level: 3x Slay Living + 1x Mass Inflict Light Wounds (Destruction) or Dispel Chaos (Law)

Armor: Wear Hedrack's set [ToEE Item Codes]:

Bug: The bonus to DC for SF:N or GSF:N is not being applied (fixed in Co8 >=v4.0.0).

Touch attack / holding a charge:


We have no ability to do this in ToEE.


Also, touch attacks shouldn't provoke AoOs because they are considered armed attacks, not unarmed.
