Stringy Pete Arcanum

Stringy Pete is an Arcanum NPC and enemy in Troika's cRPG of 2001, Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura. An epic-level undead pirate, Stringy Pete is found at Stringy Pete's Cove on the mainland of the Arcanum map, north of Thanatos.

Stringy Pete wields an Arcane Sword on-hand, an Arcane shield off-hand and wears an Arcane Helmet.

If Stringy Pete is attacked, no fewer than five Pirate Skeletons back him up:

Stringy Pete wields his sword at a rate of 6 ApT (attacks per turn) whereas the five pirate skeletons wield their weapons at 3-4 ApT. The battle can be made much easier by stunning the undead with the Stun spell. See: Arcanum Best Spells.

Stringy Pete's Tasks

Stringy Pete gives us three tasks and marks three locations on the Arcanum map:

• Find Stringy Pete's Treasure and the Silver Boot Bucklers located at Stingy Pete's treasure site, and return them to the Williamson family at the Williamson Homestead.
• Restore the desercrated altar of the temple in Vooriden by lugging back the stone found at Torin Quarry (weight: 1000 stone).
• Find the Bangellian Scourge in the Bangellian Deeps, and destroy it in the Bangellian Furnace.

Once the above quests have been satisfied, Stringy Pete is eternally rested and his ship can be sailed by us to Thanatos.

Stringy Pete's Curse of Pestilence

If we slay Molly Williamson, Stringy Pete curses us with a disease that inflicts a 1-point penalty to Constitution, Strength, Dexterity and Beauty.
