Ishar 3: The Seven Gates of Infinity
Silmarils released Ishar 3: The Seven Gates of Infinity for IBM PC MS-DOS in 1993. Ishar 3: The Seven Gates of Infinity is the sequel to Ishar 2: Messengers of Doom of 1993.
Ishar 3: The Seven Gates of Infinity was conceived by Michel Pernot and Pascal Einsweiler; was programmed by Michel Pernot, André Rocques and Jean-François Trevien; was drawn by Jean-Pascal Einsweiler, Guillaume Maginot and Eric Galand; and was composed by Fabrice Hautecloque.
Ishar 3 displays in 256-color VGA 320x200. The active drawspace is 256x113px.
Ishar 3 requires a i80386 CPU and 4 megs of RAM. Ishar 3 is a Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected Mode run-time.
The main difference between Ishar 3 and the previous two Ishar games is that players can optionally create a party of five characters at the start of the game. Otherwise, they can simply assume the role of Zubaran and recruit four party members from taverns.
In Ishar 3 the party adventures through seven different time eras via the Portals of Time. Ishar 3 features color-coded map locations, wandering NPCs, potion recipes, one dozen offensive spells, 13 defensive spells and seven specific spells.
Ishar 3 was distributed on 4x 3.5" 1.44MB HD diskettes. The hard disk drive install size is 4.5 megs (109 files). The hard disk drive install size of the cinematized CD-ROM version of Ishar 3 is 40 megs (162 files).

Supports party importation from Ishar 2. If you don't import your characters will be 16th level but only one of the characters will have an item: sword +4. This makes the start of the game harder unless you know where to go and what to do.
