Laser Squad IBM PC 1992
Target Games released Laser Squad for IBM PC MS-DOS in 1992. Laser Squad was designed by Julian Gollop. The IBM PC version of Laser Squad was programmed by John Stephens.
Laser Squad is an advanced squad-based top-down turn-based tactics game that employs opportunity fire, line of sight, three firing modes and 8-way firing and movement of up to 8-man squads that are independently outfitted and tactically controlled.
Laser Squad is the successor to Rebelstar ZX Spectrum 1984-88.
Target Games became Mythos Games who subsequently released X-COM UFO Defense IBM PC 1994 ("Laser Squad 2").
Laser Squad displays in 256-color VGA 320x200 and requires 512K of free conventional RAM.
Laser Squad was distributed on 2x 3.5" 1.44MB HD diskettes or 3x 5.25" 1.2 MB DS HD diskettes. The hard disk drive install size is 7.5 megs (279 files). Laser Squad audio supports AdLib, Sound Blaster and Roland.
