Hardcore runs were conducted with v.1.14d. Those are 100% legitimate runs. Softcore runs were conducted with 1.13c and PlugY v.10.00 (stash-sharing). Epic write-ups also employ max MonDen, MaxMobpacks and maphack with custom cfg. These were employed for experimentation purposes: to push my builds far beyond the challenge of vanilla Diablo 2.
Diablo 2 System Requirements
Diablo 2 requires at minumum an Intel Pentium 233 Mhz CPU, 32 megs of RAM and 8 megs of vRAM, but 128 megs of RAM or greater is recommended.
Diablo 2 was coded for Windows 95 to XP + NT 4.0 but is compatible with 7 to 11 as well.
Supporting both 3D hardware acceleration (Glide and Direct3D) and software aka CPU rendering, Diablo 2 was coded to display in square-pixel SVGA 800x600 256-color graphics mode under the DirectX 6.1/7.0a API.
