Haste IWD1
Ring of Free Action cancels Boots of Speed movement increase, but it doesn't cancel the movement increase or doubling of attacks under the effect of the Haste spell.
That's right, IWD Haste doubles our attack rate or ApR. In BG1, Haste only granted us a single extra attack. So, in IWD our max ApR is 10 whereas in BG1 it was 5. This is very notable indeed.
IWD Haste also inflicts exhaustion when it wears off, not so in BG1 or BG2.
- Haste (Alteration)
- Level 3 Arcane Spells IWD
- Range: Sight of Caster
- Duration: 3 rounds + 1 round/level
- Casting Time: 3
- Area of Effect: 20-foot radius
- Saving Throw: None
- Haste doubles the base movement and attack rates of all friendly creatures within the area of effect. (Spellcasting and spell effects are not sped up.) All affected by the Haste spell must be in the designated area of effect. Note that this spell negates the effects of a Slow spell. This spell is not cumulative with itself or with other similar magic.
cf. Haste BG2.
