Part VII of Storm of Zehir Walkthrough.

Samargol - Plainsrunner

This is the first quest given to us by Vadin'ya. She wants us to slay a dire boar and bring back its tusk. This quest can be undertaken as soon as we reach the Openpalm Bazaar.

Bal'alak the Ferocious

Vadin'ya wants you to slay Bal'alak the Ferocious, a dire boar grazing north of Samargol, just across the bridge.

A massive dire boar paws at the dirt, creating great gouges in the earth in its quest for food.

47 XP, 144 XP (party sixth level), Bal'alak's Tusks.

Return the auto-looted tusks to Vadin'ya: 700 xp + 2,500 gp. 

Samargol - Pretty Bird

This is the first quest given to us by Volo. He wants you to find him a talking bird. Speak with Vadin'ya. She has the parrot but won't sell it to you. What you have to do is go to the Underdark Black Market to the southeast and find another pet for her first. 

She marks it on your map so hike over there and enter. Buy the Glacial Snake from Xo'rill's Misc. section (~500 GP) [Storm of Zehir Item List]. Now, get the parrot from Vadin'ya and give to Volo for 800 XP and 3,000 GP.  While here you can pick up a quest from the other mindlafyer, Zhiir: The Black Market - For Special Customers Only. Leave this quest for later. Also, do not aggro anyone here yet.
