The Jacobs Installation StarCraft 1
The Jacobs Installation is the 4th mission of the Terran Campaign in Blizzard's RTS of 1998, StarCraft 1. Staged on Mar Sara, the Jacobs Installation sets the Sons of Korhal of the Terran against the Alpha Squadron of the Terran Confederacy. In addition, the Jacobs Installation introduces the Goliath of the Terran (as an enemy) as well as wall-mounted turrets and floor gun traps.
The Jacobs Installation is essentially a dungeon crawl; that is, the player has a fixed squad composition and can build nothing at all. In RTS, dungeon crawl levels were first employed by WarCraft 1.
The player has access to Raynor backed up by 6x Marines and 4x Firebats with the Use Stim Packs ability. Since there is no healing players must get good at squad-level micro (Medics were added for the Terran Brood War dungeon crawl level).
It is important to employ Raynor (enhanced Marine) even though his survival is plot-critical, as Raynor is far more capable in combat than stock Marines or Firebats.
Over stock Marines, Raynor has +160 health and +2 armor. Also, his gauss rifle inflicts +12 damage at +2 range over stock gauss rifles.
