The following Tennis computer games successfully simulate the sport of tennis.

Great Courts Amiga 1989



Blue Byte of Germany released Great Courts aka Pro Tennis Tour for the Amiga in 1989. Great Courts features three court-types, a sprawling table that scrolls in eight directions, Practice (2-player, ball machine and Service) and Tournament modes of play. In addition, Great Courts supports Easy, Advanced and Professional difficulty levels.

In Easy mode of play there are on-screen assistive indicators whereas in Professional mode of play there is no assistance and the ball is hit harder and therefore travels more quickly.

Great Courts events include Wimbledon (U.K.) and the French, U.S. and Australian Opens.

Amiga Great Courts was programmed by Lothar Schmitt, composed by Haiko Ruttmann, and drawn and animated by Uwe Meier.

Great Courts 2 Amiga 1991



Blue Byte of Germany released Great Courts 2 aka Pro Tennis Tour 2 for the Amiga in 1991. Great Courts 2 features an icon-driven interface, after-touch control, assistive on-screen indicators, ball-machine play and single-player or 2-4-player simultaneous modes of play. Great Courts 2 also features both male and female tennis players.

The seven tennis player stats can be tailored from a point pool of 100. Each stat can range from 0-128 (increased or decreased). The seven stats are service, smash, condition, forehand, backhand, forehand volley and backhand volley.

Great Courts 2 is the best tennis game on the Amiga.

Amiga Great Courts 2 was programmed by Lothar Schmitt, composed by Haiko Ruttmann, animated by Uwe Meier, and drawn by Thorsten Knop and János Tóth.

Tennis Cup Amiga 1990



Loriciel of France released Tennis Cup for the Amiga in 1990. Amiga Tennis cup features single-player or 2-player simultaneous play as well as Exhibition, Training, Tournment, Davis Cup and Championship modes of play. Amiga Tennis Cup includes 32 players each of which is characterized by six stats.

Amiga Tennis Cup shots include and service, lob, smash, forehand, backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley and drop-shot.

Amiga Tennis Cup was programmed by Benoist Aron, composed by Michel Winogradoff and drawn and designed by Dominique Sablons.

Tennis Cup 2 Amiga 1992



Loriciel of France released Tennis 2 Cup for the Amiga in 1992. Tennis Cup 2 features an icon-based options screen that offers three game speeds, four court-types and single- or doubles-play. In addition, Tennis Cup 2 features a full-screen display in single-player mode. Tennis players can fall and also dive to reach the ball.

Amiga Tennis Cup 2 was programmed by Clément Iyeyemi, composed by Michel Winogradoff and drawn and designed by Dominique Sablons.

Advantage Tennis Amiga 1991



Infogrames of France released Advantage Tennis for the Amiga in 1991. Advantage Tennis features Training, Season and Exhibition modes of play. Advantage Tennis players are characterized by two styles (Attacker & Defender) and six stats (service, smash, forehand, backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley).

Advantage Tennis special shots include dive, overarm smash, backhand smash, between the legs and one- or two-handed forehand or backhand strokes.

Amiga Advantage Tennis was composed by Charles Callet, programmed by Daniel Charpy and Pascal Burel (IKOS), and drawn by Jean Marc Torroella, Jérome Guerry and Philippe Masclet.
