The Lion King PC DOS
East Point Software ported Westwood Studios' 1994 Genesis version of The Lion King to IBM PC MS-DOS in 1994. The Lion King is a scrolling platform game based on Disney's 1994 animated film of the same name.
PC DOS Lion Ling was programmed by Martin Cook and Mark Rundle.
In The Lion King players control Simba the lion in both cub and adult form. Simba can move left and right, look up and down, jump vertically, jump diagonally, crouch, roar, roll, smash, maul and grab.
Lion King pickups include Plain Beetle, Patterned Beetle, Blue Beetle, Red Bug, 1-up, Circle of Life and Continue Marker.

The Lion King displays in 256-color VGA 320x200 and runs at 50 FPS. The active drawspace is 320x200.
The PC version of The Lion King was distributed on 3x 3.5" 1.44MB HD diskette and extracts and installs to hard disk drive via Lion King Installation. The install size is 3.5 megs and consists of 4 files.
The Lion King audio supports Sound Blaster, Pro Audio Spectrum, Pro Audio Spectrum Plus, Pro Audio Spectrum 16, Windows Sound System and Gravis UltraSound.
The Lion King controls supports keyboard, two-button joystick/gamepad and Gravis Gamepad.
The Lion King employs Rational Systems' DOS/4GW Protected Mode Run-time.

The Lion King Amiga
Virgin Interactive Entertainment of Europe ported the Genesis version of The Lion King to AGA Amiga in 1995. The Amiga version of The Lion King was programmed by Dave Semmons, drawn by Doug Townsley and composed by Allister Brimble.
Amiga Lion King lacks three stages and the bonus stages of PC DOS Lion King: WEAK.
Amiga Lion King displays in 320x200. The active drawspace of Amiga Lion King is 304x208.
