Vektor Grafix of the U.K. released B-17 Flying Fortress for IBM PC MS-DOS 3.0 in 1992.

In B-17 Flying Fortress players assume the role of Commander of what amounts to a flying battleship -- The B-17 Flying Fortress -- and its ten-man crew consisting of pilot, co-pilot, navigator, engineer, bombardier, radio operator and four gunners.

B-17 Flying Fortress was programmed by Dominic Robinson, Ian Martin, Graeme Baird and Terry Spencer.

B-17 Flying Fortress Technical


B-17 Flying Fortress requires an i80286 16 MHz CPU, 640K of conventional memory and 16K of EMS memory, but an i80386 CPU is recommended.

B-17 Flying Fortress displays in 256-color MCGA or VGA 320x200. B-17 Flying Fortress audio supports Sound Blaster, AdLib, Roland LAPC-1 and PC Internal Speaker. B-17 Flying Fortress controls support keyboard, mouse and analogue joystick.

B-17 Flying Fortress was distributed by MicroProse on 4x 3.5" 1.44MB HD diskettes or 5x 5.25" 1.2MB HD floppy disks and extracts and installs to hard disk drive via Flying Fortress Installation Program. The install size is 8 megs and consists of 38 files.
