Arabian Nights Amiga Krisalis Software 1993

Arabian Nights

Krisalis Software of the U.K. released Arabian Nights for the Amiga in 1993. Arabian Nights is a puzzle-platform game notable for its Idea pop-ups, inventory and precise controls.

In Arabian Nights players assume the role of Sinbad Junior, an apprentice gardener to the Caliph, who seeks to rescue Princess Laila from the clutches of the demon-Vizier.

Arabian Nights scrolls multi-directionally at 50 FPS in 32-color 320x256.

Sinbad can run left and right, duck, jump, swing his sword and drop through platforms. Depending on context or stage, Sinbad can also climb, slide, swim, fly on a magic carpet and ride in mine carts. Sinbad can also destroy destructible blocks with his sword.

Pick-ups include currency, keys, extra lives and energy. Enemies are killed by slashing them with the sword. Hazards include the likes of spike pits, ball-on-chain, cannons, falling stalactites, collapsing bridges etc.

Amiga Arabian Nights was programmed by Simeon Pashley, drawn by Darren Hebden and composed by Matt Furniss.
