Ultrin Elgglin means supreme slayer in the drow tongue, and it is a fitting name for this mighty weapon. It is a vorpal weapon, a weapon not of the Material Plane. The blade of the weapon warps in and out of being becoming insubstantial, only materializing a moment later. If the timing is perfect the insubstantial blade slips through any armor and materializes inside scoring a vicious hit and often piercing the heart of the opponent or severing his neck.

Found in the chimney atop Castle Daerthmac in Dark Side, this sword's on-hit no-save, MR-bypassing vorpal effect allows for the occasional bypassing of deep hitpoint pools, which is always welcome.
