I only allowed select spellcasters to have HLAs in Shadows of Amn (thus, no devas let alone planetars are gated in by generic liches). That's not to say your playthrough is going to be impossible, but you're definitely going to run into more roadblocks than I did.

Not sure if you have aTweaks and particularly its Fiendish Gating installed as well. In retrospect, I shouldn't have installed that.Lilura1https://www.blogger.com/profile/00672152692345839654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8345126191270611325.post-87269847943596251082019-05-01T03:18:43.158-07:002019-05-01T03:18:43.158-07:00Then probabbly a change in SCS. Ghoul lords and greater mummies are confirmed.

I might be able to kill them all by tactics (escape to previous corridor and letting them out one group after another). IF NOT for the freaking Fallen Planetar and his freaking vorpal swordstrike. I dont have any that can stall him while I repeal the lich group.

I have to delay this treasure room until next level.Laclongquanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06604065613501678680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8345126191270611325.post-4801356089575860672019-04-30T19:28:25.437-07:002019-04-30T19:28:25.437-07:00In my setup, and against Beholders, Cloudkill infl...In my setup, and against Beholders, Cloudkill inflicts 1-10 poison per round and Death Fog inflicts 8 acid per round.

So yeah, stack a few of those down and that's the end of them.

As far as I know, only liches and rakshasa are innately immune to Cloudkill (though there are many enemies that have or can get immunity to its effects by other means).

Ghoul town lich spawns at PC 16th level. Therefore, being only 13th at that point, I "only" faced off against several ghoul lords, greater mummies and bone golems.Lilura1https://www.blogger.com/profile/00672152692345839654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8345126191270611325.post-30593921188066717382019-04-30T05:27:54.324-07:002019-04-30T05:27:54.324-07:00Uncertain if SCS31 or fixpack change, but Cloudkil...Uncertain if SCS31 or fixpack change, but Cloudkill no longer affect Beholders. The group in Lower Reaches before the temple prove immune to that. After the initial clouds dissipate, I check and they are unharmed. So we smash a couple Greater Malison in and follow with both Fireball, Holy Smite. Simple is best. And probabbly their antifireball measure run out.

Aaaaaanyway, we change method in the Lair. Fireball beyond their range of perception, then a fighter arm with Cloak of Sewer, and Nalia with Polymorph Self. Two Mustard Jelly can deal with them in time. More than that, a pack of summons like skelleton go forward to test water and eat up rays before we smash fireball in.

Mustard Jelly is 100% against Beholder's arsenal, you see.

Unseeing Eye is a bit tougher, as it require timing. Keldorn is the key, as he hit hard like a truck once he got eaten a few Dispel and can use his weapon, and more buff potions. When we nearly out of Cloak of Sewers duration, I send in my WildMage to finish things off.

Unseeing Eye has his imprisonment as the initial spell against mustard jelly, which is where the rift device coming in. Smash at the right time and it cancel his spell animation.

Keldorn is the key thanks to his True Sight and Dispel. if it's the Wild Mage or Nalia, it would be too long and expensive in potion usage. Level 11 and 12 can defeat Unseeing Eye.
----------
The lich in the ghoul town is hopeless, of course. He's fine, but his summoned Dark Planetar is freaky as heck. I am currently stumped thanks to that sucker. We might have to find another method to deal with THAT before we can return and deal with Lich and party.Laclongquanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06604065613501678680noreply@blogger.com
